ALGAR DE PALANCIA
Algar enjoys natural landscapes and recreational areas, where visitors and residents can take various hiking routes, such as the Vía Verde, and spend a day of rest with their families.
Among the buildings worth mentioning in the municipality, we find: the Algar Dam, the Arab Cistern, the Joaquín Rodrigo Municipal Auditorium, the Church of La Merced (a 18th century baroque building) and the Old Arab Tower from the 13th century (refurbished in 1983 and now the Town Hall).
In terms of gastronomy, we highlight dishes such as: paella, “la caldera”, “arroz al horno”, “coca amb tomata”, “tortà” and various typical local cakes made with ingredients such as sweet potato and pumpkin.
