ALMAZARA

- DESCRIPTION
Its function was to press the olives to make oil. It had a large stone millstone that was powered by the force of an animal.
This construction, built in the 15th and 16th centuries, has a rectangular floor plan, with an open courtyard and three covered naves connected by two large arcades made of ashlars. The rest of the walls are made of masonry. The semicircular arch on the main façade stands out.
The oil mill, as in the case of the oven, was a manorial monopoly belonging to the Aguiló family. All residents were obliged to make oil in this mill and pay the rights to use it. Originally it had the Aguiló coat of arms on the door.
