TORRES TORRES

- DESCRIPTION
Torres Torres is a small and quiet town located halfway between Sagunto and Segorbe, with a great historical heritage.
The main elements are the ruins of the castle and the Arab baths, which were declared a National Monument in 1938, and are one of the three that are still preserved in Spain. Restoration work has been carried out on the Arab baths in order to make them accessible to the public. The first documented reference to the baths is from 1555, when the baths were probably no longer used as such. The building corresponds to the typical layout of an Arab bath (hammam).
Torres Torres has a strong castle from the Arab period, perhaps built on the remains of a tower that existed in an earlier period. It was inhabited until the end of the 16th century, when Don Joan de Vallterra, for its convenience, bought a large house at the entrance to the town and transformed it into what would become the manor house.
